White Stuff is a British fashion and lifestyle brand that sells women’s and men’s clothing, accessories and gifts in over 100 shops in the United Kingdom, Germany and Denmark, via mail-order catalogues and through its website.

The Challenge

We have been supplying White Stuff for several years sharing supply with other recruitment businesses. We like a challenge so when White Stuff approached us about becoming their sole provider we jumped at the chance.

During peak periods of business the incumbent recruitment partner was unable to operate at their required service levels. This was a major issue for White Stuff. Furthermore, the company had serious concerns about the compliance of supplied workers. That’s when we stepped up.

The Solution

We have been supplying White Stuff with an effective specialist temporary recruitment solution. As soon as we took over the contract in 2016 we immediately set about embedding our team in White Stuff’s business. We took ownership of White Stuff demands by assisting in the induction and development of staff through various means of service, including the recruitment of a supervisor to take the burden from the shift managers. This supervisor has first-hand contact with the office to allow consistent communication between the office to the shop floor.

We share all of our candidate information, which is a real bonus for White Stuff when it comes to compliance. Our unique online HR Portal allows White Stuff to access important documentation about staff at the click of a mouse. Our portal hosts details of all new starter inductions, along with right to work documentation, test results, medical declarations, AWR reports, Holiday Pay and Return to Work forms.

The Encore team have a weekly presence onsite to ensure the smooth running of the account and have been known to assist in White Stuffs’ very own customer events, with consultants donating their own time to working a day onsite to help with the sale and improving team morale. Our key performance indicators can closely monitor the fulfilment of bookings. We can use this information to feedback trends within our workforce saving the White Stuff internal management team valuable time.

We started out supplying White Stuff with staff on home retail order picking but we have now become an integral part of their business, supplying staff in returns, re-work, QC, and hygiene.

Our knowledge has allowed us to operate at a fulfilment rate of over 98%, with a sole supplier agreement and a fantastic platform to work with White Stuff as the company grows in the years to come.
