Production IT Support Engineer

What you will do:
 
An opportunity has arisen for a Production IT Support Engineer working within the engineering team supporting daily production IT, new product introduction and the maintenance and development of assembly management systems for manual assembly and automated processing.
You will be organised, self-motivated, punctual, and flexibility in your approach to work is essential.
This role also provides exposure to a broad range of IT related projects and activities. The ability to work individually and as part of a team is essential and is often in a fast-paced busy environment.
The opportunity to participate in projects when IT input is required to support the business is also an important part of this role.
 

  • Use of various software packages to develop and manage process control across the production process.
  • Implementation of production IT improvement projects across the site.
  • Working with NPI Project and process engineers to implement new products to existing and new production lines.
  • Troubleshoot and solve production-based IT systems.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction maintaining systems uptime, providing fit for purpose systems, ensuring robust systems and ease of working.
  • Liaise with third party support / suppliers.
  • Hardware/Software procurement.
  • Assist Group production IT to implement and maintain internationally recognised standards for systems Cyber security.
  • Assist Group IT department with the implementation of IT solutions (hardware and software.
  • Work with business stakeholders to ensure proposed projects are in line with the company strategies and development needs.
  • Perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades in line with Group scheduling.
  • Communicate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software products and services.
  • Develop, document, and maintain procedures and associated training guides for business systems.
  • Keeping documentation up to date (policies, and procedures).
 
Requirements:
 
  • Mechanical / Electrical Engineering degree with a bias to software and control systems engineering.
  • Experience of a manufacturing environment with knowledge of assembly processes.
  • Passion for production / process engineering and continuous improvement.
  • Possess a practicable approach to problem solving, analytical with experience of robust data driven decisions.
  • Strong understanding of a Windows based environment.
  • Experience of Microsoft Windows 10 Operating System.
  • Experience of Labview, Visual basic, and database record / storage software systems.
  • Network management and troubleshooting (TCP/IP and WAN/LAN/Wi-Fi / Ethercat).
  • Provide out of hours support to production on a seasonal and rotational basis with other team members.
