Donate a Day – the charity initiative from Encore Personnel

Asking people to donate to charity during these difficult economic times is hard, so with this in mind Encore Personnel have come up with a unique  scheme for 2011, called ‘Donate a Day’.

Encore are no strangers to charity work, raising in excess of £10,000 over the last 3 years including £5,800 for Huntington’s Disease when they completed a sponsored walk up Edale and the ‘3 Peaks 24 hour Challenge’

Each staff member of each branch will donate a working day, working on the site of one of their clients. The client, in turn, will pay for the hours worked at the applicable hourly rate and this will then be donated to the local charity at the end of the year, when all staff members have done their bit.

The charities chosen by each Encore location are;

• Leicester – Wishes for Kids
• Head Office, Leicester – Leicester Royal Infirmary, Young Adult Oncology Service
• Nottingham – The Childrens Ward at QMC 
• Northampton – Cynthia Spencer Hospice
• Birmingham – Birmingham City Children’s Hospital
• Telford – Hope House
• Coventry – Snowball Appeal

Nikki Gallier, from Encore’s Telford Branch, has already worked her ‘Donate a Day’ at LVS Small Plastic Parts, based in Stafford Park Telford. She spent the day packing and labelling plastic gutter clips for retail customers, stating “I packed around 10,000 pieces during the day, as well as trimming and inspecting the parts for a consumer industry leader. I would like to thank Maura Hendrick and Simon Anderson for making me feel welcome and part of the team.”

Director at Encore Ian Briers comments “As a company we believe in giving something back and this scheme will hopefully get every member of staff involved, raising money for the local charities that they themselves have chosen.”
