Government concerns about a lack of rigour in terms of the standards to be set, and the open-ended costs of the expansion of further education, have resulted in a greater emphasis on the national skills agenda and the drive to increase the numbers of adults with nationally recognised qualifications, especially those in literacy and numeracy. 

Embracing this; we have developed “Skills @ Encore”, a training program designed to help workers and organisations improve learner success, through modular training for up-skilling workers; embedding literacy, language and numeracy skills. Learners are given the opportunity to gain skills and achieve Oxford and Cambridge recognised qualifications in literacy and numeracy with an industry specific bias. 

Having conducted research relating; the general consensus of opinion from Businesses & Organisations has confirmed that further education in the workplace, for the workplace, provides a win, win scenario for all parties; many citing that improving the skills and knowledge of the workforce is a key priority supporting efficiencies and an increase in productivity. Additionally, there is strong evidence that having poor literacy and numeracy skills has an adverse effect on earnings and employment prospects.
