Public sector sources of help

It is possible that your business can find a training provider, or an organisation that will help it find a training provider, in the public sector.

learndirect is a government-sponsored initiative for flexible learning.

Sector Skills Councils are government-licensed independent organisations bringing together employers, trade unions and professional bodies. Their aim is to identify and tackle skills shortages and gaps by sector. Search your Sector Skills Councils at the Skills for Business website.

The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) funds and plans training for over-16 year olds in England - you can find out about apprenticeships on the LSC website.

Your business' training needs may also be met by courses run through your local community schools, Further Education colleges and universities.
